Boulevard firmly believes in doing its part by reducing, reusing and recycling and supporting a host of environmentally conscious and green initiatives in its kitchen, bar and dining room.
Boulevard is a proud supporter of Ocean Wise — a Vancouver Aquarium conservation program that educates and empowers consumers about the issues surrounding sustainable seafood. Ocean Wise works directly with restaurants, markets and suppliers to ensure they have the most current scientific information regarding seafood selections and help them make ocean-friendly buying decisions.
All of Boulevard’s kitchen waste will be transported off-site by NorthWest Waste Solutions, a one-hundred-per-cent B.C.-owned-and-operated company that employs proven, proprietary and practical solutions to help its clients cost-effectively achieve zero waste. Boulevard Executive Chef Alex Chen also aims to develop a rooftop garden where he and his staff will grow herbs and produce, collect rainwater and compost their own materials.
Boulevard boasts an environmentally friendly on-site water filtration system that significantly reduces the restaurant’s carbon footprint and allows staff to reuse bottles for water service, reducing the need for refrigeration usage and deliveries.
Our bar program features fresh juices made from all-natural, real ingredients handcrafted by Chasers Juice, which will deliver daily from its wholesale facility in Yaletown.
Boulevard’s green-forward focus even extends to the dining room décor, which features local millwork and wood indigenous to British Columbia, LED lighting and up-cycled original Sutton Place Hotel chandeliers, as well as an antique mercury mirror that adorns the back bar.
Boulevard’s close proximity to the Pacific Ocean, Okanagan wine country and nearby farms, fisheries and ranches aligns with our commitment to use the best local and seasonal ingredients.
Pacific Provider Salmon: Owned and operated by a North Vancouver fishing family, the Pacific Provider is a 43-foot fishing boat that travels through the waters around the Haida Gwaii in search of the best catch and using only the most sustainable fishing methods.
To that end, Boulevard is proud to source a number of its products from the following local suppliers, among others:
