I have seen flawless dishes in my 10 years of judging the Gold Medal Plates and Canadian Culinary Championships, but Alex’s dish was among the best I have ever seen at this competition…
We’ve visited Boulevard Kitchen and Oyster Bar multiple times since its inception at the Sutton Place Hotel and it has yet to disappoint. Another excellent spot in downtown Vancouver that consistently delivers. Amazing all around attention to detail in every aspect. P.S. The drinks are also exceptional!
Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar, run by Chef Alex Chen, has a seafood tower that betters anything I have had in Paris
The service melds seamlessly with the room, and with the food. The restaurant hums along and the serving doors swing back and forth all night long…It is nice to know that behind the apparent magic is a team that knows its stuff, and puts their back into the job.
Thanks to Executive Chef Alex Chen and Chef de Cuisine Roger Ma, the elegant stylings of the room extend to the plates…Paired with the many approachable wines picked out by wine director Lisa Haley, this is a room in which the sartorially splendid can let their hair down for an elegant – and fun – night out.
The detail, technique and thought that goes into each dish is exquisite. The color combinations each dish offers is beautiful to look at.
Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar is a beautiful space with an equally beautiful menu… With so many delicious options, the biggest challenge is deciding what to order.
With a spare-no-expense talent pool, key downtown location, posh, art-filled and modern white/bronze/marble/oak sumptuousness (the booths are mighty and the bar is slick), you expect the menu to be elevated, and it delivers.

The new Boulevard Restaurant within the Sutton place hotel is in full swing and, though I expected it to be pretty great, it has completely exceeded my expectations… The staff is top notch and the service is simply impeccable. The food is not only delicious, it’s stunning.
Boulevard is Vancouver’s new avenue for five-star fabulousness.
